I was born Roxana Reyes to a Cuban father and a Puerto Rican mother, both born and raised in New York City.
I have worn many hats! I was a legal secretary, wildlife rescuer, a production specialist with a popular radio station and even danced in an NFL Super Bowl half-time show. I was a Police Field Training Officer with the Tampa Police Department.
Once making Arizona my home in the late 1980’s, I worked for America West Airlines coordinating a very popular baseball fantasy camp and was in the travel business for more than a decade. I have been a real estate agent, and sales rep at GoDaddy. Heck, I was even on Wheel of Fortune!
I have had several small businesses including a salt water aquarium store and a scuba diving business, where my husband and I would take clients to exotic places like Puerto Rico, Mexico and Fiji to dive with bull and tiger sharks.
I have lived in Tempe for 36 years. I have been married to my husband, Michael, for 26 years. I have two grown sons, several dogs, a cat and a tortoise.
High on the list as reasons for Roxana to run for public office was her unwillingness to sit idle and watch Arizona become like a California.
